Attended Furman University where he won the Fred Haskins Award (1983) and was a two-time All-American.
Turned Pro 1983 achieving 8 PGA Tour wins and playing on two U.S. Ryder Cup teams (1995, 1997).
Renowned as one of golf’s best putters, leading the PGA Tour in putting average multiple times (1996, 1999, 2000) and setting a single-season record in 2000 (1.704 putts/greens in regulation).
Post-Playing Career: Became a prominent golf commentator for NBC and FOX Sports and a sought-after putting coach, mentoring players like Rory McIlroy.
Awards: Received the Payne Stewart Award in 2005 and the Jim Murray Award from the Golf Writers Association of America in 2012.
